After living the dream in France for 5 years Kate made the move into recruitment after moving to London. Here, she cut her teeth in a busy and competitive environment but in 2018 made the move out of the costly city to head to the Midlands in pursuit of a new dream! Joining Macildowie and initially covering Junior HR in Leicestershire she has now progressed to Managing Consultant level responsible for the recruitment for temp, contract and permanent HR roles £35,000p.a. and above in Leicestershire, Coventry/Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, She also has a fab team in Emily and Richenda who cover the more junior role in those regions, and works alongside Sarah-May who has joined the team to cover London.
Kate Oliver enjoys...
I am really in to my health and wellbeing, I work out in my home gym (more glamorous than it sounds) 4 times a week and enjoy running, mainly to counteract the wine I drink at the weekends! I am also and the team cook in our house and find it quite therapeutic after a day in the (virtual) office. I also enjoy taking Lola (my cockapoo) out on little adventures.
We were having a challenge finding candidates with the right fit for the team and organisation.
I called Macildowie as I had previous experience with them as a candidate.
Our experience with Macildowie was excellent. Kate was very easy to work with.
Kate was very good at building relationships with the hiring manager to understand the type of candidate required. My favourite things were the personal touches, a real understanding of the requirements of the role but also of the less tangible things.
The successful candidates said they enjoyed the recruitment process, felt that they were kept abreast of their application and had sufficient support with researching the role.
If you have never used Macildowie before they come highly recommended.

I wanted to provide some positive feedback for Kate Oliver, who I believe sits in your team. I truly believe she has gone that extra mile.
In the beginning of August she helped me secure a role, which I was extremely appreciative and grateful for. However, I feel that she has gone above and beyond her role, she has messaged me on a few occasions to check on me and ask how I am getting on with the new role and like they say it’s the small things matter and can make all the difference, especially in these unprecedented times.
I don’t know if this is normal protocol or not within the recruitment world, but I feel this is something extra and many recruiters wouldn’t normally check on the individual they’ve already landed a role for.
Please can you pass my feedback on and although I have thanked her for her help, she definitely deserves the extra recognition.

Kate was incredibly supportive during my search for my new role and has a great ability to identify compatibility between a candidate and a client. Kate kept in close contact throughout the process, offering continual advice, support, guidance and feedback and was always quick to respond when I had questions. Kate is personable, approachable and professional and I would definitely recommend her to others!

Kate created a positive and productive journey in my search for work as a recent Master's graduate. My success in quickly receiving a job offer for a role that suited me is evidence of Kate's natural ability in understanding people and business needs. I really am impressed in how quickly Kate was able to find a company that suited my career aspirations, personality, location and experience level. A real pleasure to have had Kate supporting me, would highly recommend.
